AUV-LAVAL is a student project from Université Laval, in Quebec City. This year, we will take part to the AUVSI annual contest that takes place at the SPAWAR in San Diego, California.
This year we built on and improved our original Angler-I model. After months of work in the fields of mechanical, electrical and software engineering, we are proud to present Angler-II, which we hope will be better equipped to handle the many missions of the annual competition.
Before going further in the discovery of the underwater world, you're probably wondering what "AUVSI" stands for? It is the "Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International", which is a non-profit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems community. This group annually organizes international competitions to develop new paradigms in unmanned systems and related technologies, as well as increasing their public visibility.
The AUVSI competition is an excellent way for us to develop and increase our skills in the field of unmanned mechanisms.
